Title: Apologetic Conversations

Author: Cheung, Vincent

Our subject is apologetics. Specifically, I have in mind the intellectual vindication of the biblical worldview and the destruction of all non-biblical worldviews in the context of informal debates, such as in personal conversations. Formal debates are regulated by elaborate rules, time limitations, and each side are often called upon to defend or refute previously announced propositions. These factors combine to construct a rather "artificial" environment for intellectual confrontations. To gain the advantage in such a situation, one must not only understand the intellectual merits of his position and the fallacies in his opponent's position, but he must know how to convincingly present his arguments within the restrictions imposed by the rules of formal debate. He must think and operate strategically.
